Quantum Legal is currently pursuing a class action case against Sperian Energy for charging inflated rates and engaging in unfair conduct in the pricing of electricity (power). Sperian is an energy service company (“ESCO“) that is not the utility company. Companies like Sperian are also known as “Alternative Retail Electric Companies” (ALREC) or “Alternative Retail Electric Suppliers” (ARES). Sperian is not your utility company and it often convinces consumers to switch from their utility company to Sperian by offering a fixed cost agreement for a limited time (usually one year) and then switching the consumer to a variable rate plan. Once under the variable rate plan, the prices Sperian charges are not representative of the actual market prices, often resulting in consumers being overcharged. If you are, or were, a customer of Sperian and you believe you may have been overcharged for electricity, please contact Quantum Legal.
