Quantum Legal currently represents individuals in lawsuits against Air Methods and Rocky Mountain Holdings, its parent company. We have recently received a favorable opinion in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals which will allow us to continue to pursue these matters. These unreasonably high and excessive costs of medical transport by helicopter or air ambulance are unfair to consumers. Air Methods is a for profit, emergency ambulance helicopter medical provider that has allegedly benefited from price gouging strategies and is charging unreasonably high prices that bear no reasonable relationship to their costs. Flights provided by Air Methods and its subsidiaries, including Rocky Mountain, Mercy Air Service, Inc. and LifeNet, Inc. routinely cost tens of thousands of dollars– a large portion of which is not covered by insurance. Patients transferred by helicopter transport neither receive notice of the costs nor do they provide affirmative consent to such charges. Such patients also have no choice in selecting the helicopter transportation provider. If you or someone you know received medical transportation services from Air Methods, Rocky Mountain Holdings, Mercy Air, LifeNet or any other helicopter medical emergency transportation company, please contact us.
